    Department of Mechanical and Civil Engineering Instructor Position in Construction Management

    The Construction Management Program at the Florida Institute of Technology (Florida Tech) invites applications for a full-time faculty position at the Instructor level, planned to commence in August 2024. This is a non-tenure track position, with primary emphasis on teaching courses within the Construction Management and Civil Engineering programs. The successful applicant will have relevant academic background, industry experience, and a commitment to teaching excellence.

    Construction Management is a program within the Department of Mechanical and Civil Engineering. The program is accredited by the American Council for Construction Education (ACCE). The program's primary goal is to prepare undergraduate students for a leadership career in the construction industry. The program has three full-time faculty members and approximately 50 undergraduate students. Additionally, Construction Management faculty members teach Construction Management related undergraduate and graduate Civil Engineering courses and advise approximately 40 Civil Engineering graduate students specializing in the Construction Management area.

    Applicant qualifications:

  • An undergraduate degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or closely related field.
  • A Ph.D. or other terminal degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or closely related field with a minimum of 5 years of industry experience as a practicing construction manager, or a master's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or closely related field with a minimum of 20 years of industry experience as a practicing construction manager.
  • Excellent potential for teaching.
  • Dedication to education, service, and professional activities.

    Annual Security & Fire Safety Report

    The federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act) requires colleges and universities, both public and private, participating in federal student aid programs to disclose campus safety information, and imposes certain basic requirements for handling incidents of sexual violence and emergency situations.

    Florida Tech's 2023 Annual Security and Fire Safety Report includes statistics for the previous three years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus; in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by Florida Tech; and on public properly within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from, the campus.

    The numbers provided include crime statistics that were reported to local law enforcement agencies, campus security and other Campus Security Authorities.
