Hello, I'm Alfie Chapman, a recent architecture graduate from Northumbria University. With two years of experience as an Amazon Associate while studying, I've honed my skills in customer service and teamwork.

Excitingly, I'll be relocating to Melbourne in late October. This move offers a fresh start to combine my architectural knowledge with practical experiences in a vibrant city known for its diverse culture and stunning architecture.

I'm passionate about people, customer service, challenges, architecture! I am eager to connect with new people who share my interests in Melbourne. 

During my academic journey in architecture, I took on a Level 1 role at Amazon, which turned out to be an enriching and pivotal experience. Beyond providing vital financial support for my studies, this position opened doors to a deep exploration of Amazon's intricate operations and its commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.

At Amazon, I not only gained a comprehensive understanding of their core processes, including stow, pack, and pick, but I also had the privilege of observing how area managers operate. This exposure allowed me to gain valuable insights into what works effectively and where opportunities for improvement exist within a large-scale, fast-paced organization.

Working closely with Amazon's operational teams, I became intimately acquainted with the meticulous procedures that underpin the company's reputation for efficiency and excellence. I witnessed first-hand the critical importance of precise execution, teamwork, and innovation in ensuring a seamless customer experience.

In addition to learning about Amazon's operations, my time at the company provided me with an invaluable perspective on management and leadership. Observing area managers in action, I gained insights into effective leadership strategies and the art of driving a team toward common goals. I've had the opportunity to identify areas where leadership can excel and contribute to overall success.

My Bachelor of Architecture degree from Northumbria University provided me with a strong foundation in architectural theory and practice, along with essential skills transferable to the Area Manager role at Amazon.

Throughout my architectural studies, I developed problem-solving, project management, and critical thinking skills while working under pressure and managing heavy workloads. Collaboration and effective communication within diverse teams were also emphasized, honing my ability to work seamlessly with others.

One notable aspect of my education was the opportunity to present my ideas and projects to a team every week. This experience allowed me to grow my confidence and enhance my public speaking skills. Speaking to a diverse audience on a regular basis not only bolstered my ability to articulate ideas clearly but also prepared me to speak confidently to larger crowds.

My architectural education also included a focus on health and safety in design and construction, ensuring a commitment to maintaining safe working environments. These skills, acquired through rigorous study, are directly applicable to the responsibilities of an Area Manager at Amazon.
