The Role
This is a hands-on Construction Manager role for an experienced, ambitious professional who has a passion for delivering small-to-medium scale projects on time and within budget including:

  • End to end on-site management of all construction activities to ensure all Construction deliverables and deadlines are achieved
  • Visit site at least weekly and review programs fortnightly with project teams to assist in identification of risk, ensure quality and assess opportunity in program
  • Develop strategies with the Project team to maximize opportunities to accelerate the program and mitigate any risks that may threaten the program
  • Ensure all projects are delivered on or ahead of contract completion date
  • Ensure that program of projects are reviewed on a fortnightly basis and advise the General Manager should there be any deviation from the original plan.
  • Maximise site productivity through smart scheduling and detailed program planning and efficient construction work method
  • Delegate responsibilities for project operations to team members and communicate project success factors and KPIs to the Project team members
  • Provide clear mentoring, guidance, training and advice to Project Team on construction process and methodology to ensure quality and standards are met
  • Identify training and career development opportunities for direct team and ensure commitments are adhered to as scheduled
  • Conduct performance appraisals of Project team
  • Ensure conflicts are managed well and issues are resolved
  • Ensure Site Manager communicates with Project Team for any program / budget issues
  • Produce written defect list and conduct defect walk through with Site Managers to ensure all defects are resolved
  • Work with the Project Team to ensure effective management of all site labour and contractors in their work, quality, attendance and break, site rule compliance and SWMS
  • Ensure Site Managers are overseeing the site security of their sites
  • Demonstrate and promote a safety culture
  • Ensure all construction activities comply with safety laws, regulations, industry codes of practice and project requirements specified by clients or regulators
  • Compliance and quality adherence
  • Identify and report any risks in regard to construction integrity, WHSEQ or any other risks

  • Minimum 2 years commercial property management or leasing experience in a realestate or property management company
  • Minimum 10 years' commercial site experience
  • 3 4 years Site Manager experience (large scale commercial / industrial)
  • Strong and broad understanding of construction methodology
  • Excellent knowledge of building regulations, WSHEQ regulations and QA
  • Trade qualification or equivalent
  • Demonstrated leadership / management skills
  • Ability to foster and drive a collaborative team environment
  • Outstanding people, communication and negotiation skills

  • High attention to detail
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Excellent problem solving and conflict resolution skills

Salary:
$175, $195,000.00 per year
