    Teaching ServicePosition Information

    Enngonia Public School, located 100km north of Bourke in Western NSW, is a T2 school with an enrolment of 17 students from Preschool to year 6. 100% of students identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. The school is well-resourced and provides individual opportunities for a diverse student population with a broad range of abilities and learning needs.

    The Preschool provides early intervention for children aged 3 to 5 years, focusing on literacy, numeracy and access to services such as speech pathology and occupational therapy.

    The school's belief that learning is inclusive, culturally connected and community based promotes a safe and collaborative learning environment that provides students with the skills and knowledge to make positive choices. Students are encouraged to strive for success and become confident learners in their growth.

  • Demonstrated ability to balance the complex teaching, administrative and leadership roles of a teaching principal.
  • Capacity and commitment to engage parents and the broader community in the life of the school and build strong collaborative partnerships across local small schools.
  • Capacity to lead, engage and inspire staff to build a positive team culture focused on continuous improvement.
  • Ability to embed Aboriginal programs and initiatives in collaboration with the community to enhance educational opportunities for all students in delivering effective literacy and numeracy outcomes.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework offers a vision where all children experience learning that is engaging and builds for a successful life.
  • General Selection Criteria

    1. High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education

    2. Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs

    3. High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community

    4. Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning

    5. Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning

    6. Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policies and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people

    Conditions

    If you have not held a substantive principal position in a NSW Public School at any time in the past five (5) years, you need to have completed the NSW Public School Leadership and Management Credential to be eligible to apply, and you will need to attach a copy of your provisional credential certificate or final credential certificate as part of your application.

    An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity. From 8 November 2021 all Department of Education employees undertaking , including any work conducted on a NSW school site, will be required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. The successful candidate for this position will be required to confirm full vaccination status prior to the Department of Education finalising the appointment of the candidate and entry on duty.     The classification and remuneration of our school principals is based on school complexity, as measured through each school's RAM allocation. As part of the ongoing application of the new structure a review of thresholds and outcomes will occur on an annual basis.
