Position Information:


Tahmoor Public School, located in the Wollondilly Principals Network in South Western Sydney, has a current enrolment of 495 students, with 18% identifying as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and 14% with a Language Background other than English.

The school currently has 21 mainstream classes, four support classes and an Opportunity Class that caters for high potential and gifted students.

Teachers work together, within a developing culture of collaboration, to form a dedicated team of educators who are committed to ongoing improvement and who care deeply about the needs of each child.

A focus on wellbeing underpins all activities to ensure students are confident and resilient learners who are able to connect, succeed and thrive.

The school provides a range of extracurricular programs including such things as band, Operation Art, sporting knockouts, dance groups and chess club.

The school has a highly involved community with an active P&C.

Tahmoor Public School continues to build and foster effective partnerships with parents to support student wellbeing and to promote student engagement.

Demonstrated exemplary leadership skills and emotional intelligence in strengthening teacher efficacy through a culture of collaboration, high expectations and relational trust.


Proven ability to lead an inclusive school culture that embeds evidence-based practices to meet the learning and wellbeing needs of all students, including high potential and gifted students, and students with complex learning and behavioural needs.


General Selection Criteria:


  • High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education
  • Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs
  • High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community
  • Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning
  • Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning
  • Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policies and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people
