Position Information:


Liverpool West Public School is a richly diverse and vibrant P-6 school on Darug land in south western Sydney and acknowledges connections to the Cabrogal clan of the Darug nation.

As part of the highly collegial Liverpool Principals Network, the school provides quality educational programs for the current enrolment of 665 students including 33 students who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.

87% of students have a language background other than English and between 16%-20% of students are newly arrived and/or have refugee backgrounds.

The school has a FOEI of 164 and caters for diverse needs inclusive of students enrolled in Coota Gulla - a designated Aboriginal pre-school and students in the four-class support unit.

Liverpool West Public School is undergoing a major rebuild, with Phase 1 due for completion this term.

This entails new and contemporary learning spaces for all Kindergarten and Stage 3 students, a new canteen, administration office and library.

Phase 2 of construction will also be initiated in Term 2 or earlier to re-house the rest of the school.

The school also has a focus on continual improvement of student learning outcomes within a contemporary, safe and supportive environment.

The school will be undergoing External Validation in Term 2 this year and its most recent self-assessment against the School Excellence Framework indicates the school is Excelling in Wellbeing, and School Resources, Delivering in Student Performance Measures and School Planning, Implementation and Reporting, and Sustaining and Growing in all other elements.


The school also prides itself on driving important developments at the school in implementing the High Potential and Gifted Education Policy.

Other priorities in the school's Strategic Improvement Plan include a strong emphasis on differentiated, evidence-based teaching and learning, and maximising upon the already strong parent engagement and support in partnering to improve student learning outcomes.

  • Demonstrated strategic and instructional leadership that inspires and enables capability building of executives, teachers and support staff to collaboratively improve and sustain the impact of strong P-6 teaching and learning programs and practices.
  • Decisive and compelling leadership of change management for continuous improvement in the context of a well-run school.

  • High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education
  • Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs
  • High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community
  • Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning
  • Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning
  • Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policies and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people
