    Teaching ServicePosition Information

    Bankstown South Infants School is a unique pre-school to Year 2 setting, serving a highly diverse and multicultural community. There are 145 Kindergarten to Year 2 students across 7 classes (99% LBOTE) with 26 different language backgrounds represented. There are 4 Aboriginal students. There is an on-site pre-school catering for 40 students who attend a five-day fortnight, with a maximum of 20 students each day. There is an early intervention pre-school program catering for up to 21 students with additional needs.

    Student learning is supported by EAL/D teachers, LaSTs and Arabic and Vietnamese community languages teachers. The community are actively involved in events and have a strong sense of trust in the school.

    Specific Selection Criteria

    In addition to the general selection criteria:

    A. Deep knowledge of early childhood education and inclusive education

    B. Ability to lead school and department strategies to support students with additional needs and ensure an inclusive environment and positive impact on learning and wellbeing

    C. High-level interpersonal skills and approachable leadership to build authentic connections with parents, staff and the wider school community

    D. Strong and visible leadership that builds a dynamic learning community focused on high standards of professional growth, evidence-informed practices and staff collective efficacy

    General Selection Criteria

    1. High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high-quality education

    2. Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs

    3. High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community

    4. Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning

    5. Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning

    6. Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policies and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people

    If you have not held a substantive principal position in a NSW Public School at any time in the past five (5) years, you need to have completed the NSW Public School Leadership and Management Credential to be eligible to apply, and you will need to attach a copy of your provisional credential certificate or final credential certificate as part of your application.

    An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity. Special Notes
