    A fabulous opportunity now exists as for an ambitious and experienced Governance professional to lead as - Group Leader Governance Services- the City's' Governance group which includes - Integrated Planning & Reporting, Corporate Planning, Risk and insurance, Internal Audit - including Audit Risk & Improvement Committee, Civic Governance and meetings, Information requests and Legal Services

    The Role
    As Group Leader Governance Services, reporting directly to the General Manager, you will be leading a dedicated and talented team of community focused professionals.

    Your role more broadly and as part of the organisation's leadership team will be to help develop high performance organisation through the development of its people and processes. More specifically you will be providing strategic leadership, management and advocacy to the Governance Group ensuring collaboration across the City and a focus on innovation and accountability in the delivery of organisational objectives.

    Key Accountabilities

    • Oversee and facilitate the City's Integrated Planning & Reporting responsibilities.
    • Deal with high level complaints management, ICAC, public official statutory requirements, investigation management, ombudsman liaison and internal reviews.
    • Management of legal services and litigation against the City
    • Facilitation of internal audit per the Internal Audit Charter
    • ARIC as appropriate
    • Statutory PID reporting to the Ombudsman
    • Support Group Leaders across the City in the development and implementation of governance and risk related policies

    As such we are seeking a highly motivated individual with exceptional leadership abilities who is focused upon delivering quality outcomes for the community. Key to your success will be your drive and passion around building cultures you are proud of and building long term relationships with external stakeholders.

    It is expected that as a minimum you will hold tertiary qualifications in Law, Governance, Public Policy or a related discipline.
