Data Governance Coordinator, Ongoing, locations are flexible across NSW with hybrid working


As a Data Governance Coordinator, you will be skilled and experienced in all things data and data governance and support the development and delivery of data strategy, policy and practices across NSW Government.

Play a hands-on role working with key stakeholders to implement data initiatives that enable data sharing and use across all tiers of government, including supporting open government and digital transformation initiatives, and improving data capability, maturity and quality.

You will enjoy working in a complex and dynamic environment with widely different maturity levels, governance arrangements and practices.

Your focus will be contributing to best practice data governance functions in line with legislative, organisational and government requirements as well as supporting good data practices.

In this role some of your key accountabilities may include:

  • Implement and maintain data governance standards and guidance in line with best practice methodologies, and industry recognised standards and processes and ensure consistency of use
  • Maintain awareness of relevant issues, policy and legislative obligations, insights, challenges industry trends and practices, contributing to a best practice data governance and management practices
  • Gain an understanding of customer/stakeholder requirements, priorities and challenges and developing measurable data governance solutions and services

To be successful, you should demonstrate:

  • Have proven skills and experience in all things data including managing data across the data lifecycle, analytics and reporting
  • A working knowledge of data governance practices, particularly in the areas of privacy, security and the ethical use of data.
  • A sound understanding of data related government regulatory requirements and emerging trends
  • Welldeveloped written and verbal communication skills to actively support data governance capability uplift across the organisation and NSW Government

About the Data Analytics Centre, Customer, Delivery and Transformation


The Data Analytics Centre (DAC) exists to lead a whole-of-government approach to data analytics, to tackle some of the State's most difficult policy challenges.

Using data analytics, managed analytics (powered by the DAC's Data Analytics Platform), and guided innovations programs, the DAC works to connect data, people and insights to build world-class capabilities in whole-of-government data analytics to improve health and well-being, safety, social, economic and environmental outcomes for the citizens of NSW.

Salary Grade 7/8, with the base salary for this role starting at base plus superannuation
