    Our client is seeking to engage a Project Manager.

    Location: Melbourne, VIC

    Contract Length: Start – 20/05/2024, End – 31/12/2024 with 1 X 6-month option to extend

    Eligibility/Security Requirement: Successful candidate must have up-to-date police check with no qualifications or disclosable outcomes.

    Requirements Summary

    Our client is seeking the services of a Project Manager to assist the Enabling Services team to implement the newly developed Agency's Operating Model and to assist with enabling services capability and process improvements across the Agency.

    Full Requirements – Responsibilities

    The role will:

    • Lead the implementation of the Agency's Operating Model, which sets out how the Agency operates and how the Agency delivers our services from strategy and priorities, scoping and planning, set up, delivery, and to facilitation and adoption.
    • Lead, facilitate and coordinate a range of projects and activities in Enabling Services, designed to improve the enabling services policies, procedures, and processes, increase Agency's capability, and improve supporting systems and tools.
    • Provide specialist content knowledge to support the administration of systems and tools used to deliver Agency activities and projects, including SharePoint, Power BI, and access and security management tools.
    • Assist in the day-to-day activities for the Enabling Services team by support the management team, engaging with key stakeholders, and collaborating with program managers, project managers and delivery partners to support the delivery of key Agency programs and delivery commitments.
    • Comply with all Bureau work, health and safety policies and procedures, and take reasonable care for your own health and safety and that of employees, contractors and visitors who may be affected by your conduct.
    • Commitment to APS Values, Employment Principles, Code of Conduct, and the Bureau's Social Justice Strategy.
    • At commencement, the candidate must have an up-to-date police check with no qualifications or disclosable outcomes.

    Knowledge and Skills Required:

    Mandatory

    • Experience in project management, business analysis, and/or process management.
    • Experience in working in enabling services functions, such as governance, government relations, project management office, finance, and commercial services.
    • Data analysis, problem solving and critical thinking skills, particularly in a complex, research-based organization.
    • Strong communications and stakeholder engagement skills.
    • A detailed understanding the Australian Public Service operates, including demonstrated knowledge of the PGPA Act and the Commonwealth Procurement Rules.

    Desirable

    • Familiarity with the Australian climate environment and knowledge of relevant Australian climate policies, such as the National Climate Resilience and Adaptation Strategy.
    • Relevant formal qualifications will be highly regarded.
