- Delivers solutions or finds new opportunities for a positive customer experience utilizing independent judgment, lead generation, and sales methodology.
- Directs secured sales opportunities to the proper stakeholder(s), if required.
- Initiates sales inquiries directly to prospective and/or existing customers to promote product offerings, services and capabilities.
- Promptly, directs, and accurately responds to prospective or existing customer information requests.
- Monitors/follows up on sales activities throughout the process to meet or exceed customer requirements from initial contact to order fulfillment.
- Maintains and expands sales with existing accounts through a high level of customer service and customer knowledge (e.g., Distribution Total Available Market (DTAM), projects in pipeline, critical start dates).
- Working in a team environment, proactively coordinates sales efforts and strategies with internal resources such as product, quotes, technical, marketing and suppliers.
- Effectively communicates with customers regarding current product information and provides accurate and detailed pricing, quotes, and input on products and final solutions.
- Coordinates existing customer requirements for inventories, delivery lead time and unit prices.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Solid understanding of business, financials, products/services, the market, and the needs of assigned accounts. Understands emerging market trends and interdependencies impacting customers; leverages understanding to expand relationships with own customers. May be recognized as an expert in one area.
- Complexity is high (territory/account, products/services, sales or account management process). Requires developed sales expertise across a defined portfolio of products./services/accounts; applies expertise in a complex sales environment.
- Works independently to pursue or manage accounts/opportunities of various scales. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience; may serve as mentor to help develop colleagues' and customers' understanding. Has autonomy to set and negotiate product/service terms; plans own territory or account approach.
- Collaborates with team and leadership. Has direct contact with clients and decision makers; participates in team sales for major accounts.
- Works within broad guidelines and policies to develop business with new and existing customers
- Minimum experience required is typically 3+ years in direct sales, with a proven record of achieving sales targets.
