Faulconbridge Public School, located in the Blue Mountains, has a current enrolment of 328 with 5% of our student population identifying as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. 10% of students are from language backgrounds other than English. Our school has a strong partnership with local Aboriginal Elders and the Ngarra Wingarru Aboriginal Education Consultative Group (AECG). Our staff, who range from early career to highly experienced, are committed to working collaboratively to support the achievement of our Strategic Improvement Plan through the implementation of evidence-based programs including synthetic phonics and explicit teaching. Our school's extensive grounds consist of well-equipped classrooms, and a range of outdoor learning, playing and exploration areas. Our strong connection to our environment and nature are apparent with native Bush Tucker garden onsite. Faulconbridge Public School is a Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) school and promotes high expectations for all. Our school community values an extensive range of opportunities for our students, including music and band opportunities, as well as the highly valued kitchen garden program. Our kitchen garden program runs throughout the year and engages students in learning about gardening processes and plants in the vegetable patch, as well as understanding produce and developing cooking skills in the kitchen. Faulconbridge Public School maintains strong links to neighbouring schools, and is part of the Mid Mountains Learning Community. There is a high degree of family and community support and involvement across all school activities including our unique Blackboard Café, and our school has an active and engaged P&C.

General Selection Criteria

1. High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education

2. Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs

3. High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community

4. Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning

5. Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning

6. Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policies and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people

Conditions

If you have not held a substantive principal position in a NSW Public School at any time in the past five (5) years, you need to have completed the NSW Public School Leadership and Management Credential to be eligible to apply, and you will need to attach a copy of your provisional credential certificate or final credential certificate as part of your application.
