  • Full time, permanent role
  • Hybrid work arrangements - On site, WFH and Office
  • Flexible Location - Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne

    • You will be responsible for the overall performance and delivery of the Technical Specialist Team, by coaching, mentoring and guiding whilst role-modelling the Woolworths Values.
    Support the team to execute quality/food/product safety workstreams, safety and legality of the products produced and supplied to Woolworths. Liaise with commercial and Own Brand category management and Leadership teams in order to provide quality and technical guidance.

    What you'll do -

  • Lead, manage and mentor a team of Technical Specialists
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across the business in Commercial and Woolworths Food Company eg. Category Managers, Senior Category Development Managers, Product Development Teams, Brand Teams and relevant external relationships
  • Incident Management including Withdrawals and Recalls
  • Working effectively with other Technical Managers in an agile manner to ensure effective resourcing and priorities of the business are met
  • Support the Head of Technical in driving improvements and positive change
  • Effective prioritisation through the identification of trends across the category - enabled by data
  • Building annual category supplier engagement strategy supported by data
  • Lead the team through coaching and development for all team members
  • Support improvements of the NPD framework
  • Actively participate and role model within the Product Safety leadership team
  • Effective supplier support including travel as required (regular domestic and possible international)
  • Opportunity to develop and drive your Sub chapter strategy for your team inline with the overarching chapter strategy

    • What you'll bring -

  • Previous experience in a similar role (retail and/or manufacturing)
  • Previous leadership and coaching experience - mentor, motivate and empower your team
  • Ability to engage, influence and manage internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Experience managing risk based quality systems
  • Proven cross functional and horizontal leadership
