What is Family Hour?

The Mirabel Foundation's Family Hour lets you swap an hour of work for an hour of family time on Thursday 3 August 2017.

The idea is to spend time with your loved ones, because some kids aren't fortunate enough to spend family time with their parents. Your support will not only raise funds for a child who has lost their parents to drug abuse, it’s also a reminder of how important family time is. Some of our best memories are created with loved ones, so here’s a chance to make some more.

The Mirabel Foundation is an Australian Children's Charity that assists children who have been orphaned or abandoned due to parental illicit drug use and are now in the care of extended family (kinship care). Mirabel believes that every child deserves a childhood and its mission is to break the destructive cycle of addiction.

Mirabel supports children aged 0-17 years and works at restoring a child’s sense of self-worth, belonging and hope for the future in order for them to reach their full potential as young adults.

It has been a privilege to support the work of the Mirabel Foundation since 2006 when my first book Soul Talk was published.
