Electromagnetic Warfare & Intelligence Systems Joint and Air Systems Program Office (EWIS J&A SPO) located at the RAAF base is seeking highly motivated Assistant Product Manager to provide a range of functions with tasks including:

  • Development of product management strategies and plans, enabling delivery and reporting on the requirements and expectations of the management of Defence assets.
  • Completion of work within agreed schedules and requirements of product management plans to ensure that product management requirements are fully considered, costed and documented.
  • Document engineering decisions and maintain configuration baseline documentation in accordance with Engineering Management System.
  • Engage and negotiate with stakeholders on complex issues to achieve business outcomes.
  • Build and sustain productive working relationships to achieve product management outcomes.
  • Investigate and identify product management risks and issues and take the initiative to provide solutions.
  • Review, analyse and report upon product performance.
  • Completion of work within timeframes, share own expertise with others and guide and coach less experienced employees.
  • Analyse, develop and recommend product management options that achieve optimal use of Defence assets, balancing cost, opportunities and risks against desired asset performance.

About our Team

The EWIS J&A SPO undertakes the acquisition and through-life-support of assigned Joint and Air Electronic Warfare Capabilities used by the Australian Defence Force.

It delivers countermeasures development and validation services and supports a number of projects being delivered to the Intelligence and Security Group.


You will work independently with the opportunity for reasonable autonomy and accountability for the achievement of outcomes of their work.


Provide detailed product management technical, professional and policy advice in relation to complex work and contribute to strategic planning, program and project management and policy development.


You may be a team coach or lead a team and be accountable to set work priorities and manage workflows and expected to be capable of building team capability through coaching, feedback and developing the quality of work undertaken by others within a work unit.


You may have a considerable level of stakeholder engagement and will liaise with stakeholders in relation to complex issues and required to identify, anticipate and respond to stakeholders' needs and expectations to achieve work unit and Defence outcomes.
