We are seeking a highly motivated professional to join the newly formed ICT Strategy Implementation Office (ICT SIO) as the Change Management and Communications Lead.


You will report to the Assistant Director of ICT Strategy and Planning and will be responsible for change management and communication activities across Defence on behalf of the ICT SIO.

In this role you will be responsible for the design and implementation of the Stakeholder and Partner Engagement
Plan, implementation of the Change Agent Network, and any other activities relating to change and communications as required.

You will conduct Change Impact Assessments for new initiatives as required.


Our Team

The ICT SIO is a newly formed function within ICT Strategy Realisation Branch and Chief Technology Officer Division that provides guidance and oversight of the Defence ICT Strategy.


This office is responsible for ICT strategy implementation management, performance reporting and ensuring that ICT initiatives within Chief Information Officer Group are executed and implemented in alignment with the ICT Strategy.


The team has a direct relationship with the whole of Defence including wider Chief Information Officer Group, other Defence Groups and Services and Defence Industry Partners to adopt a One Defence approach to achieving the goals of the ICT Strategy.


To succeed in this role you will:

  • Have a high level of leadership and people management skills
  • Have welldeveloped change management skills
  • Possess exceptional written, verbal, negotiation and communication skills and the confidence to engage with a range of military, APS and external stakeholders
  • Have significant stakeholder management experience
  • Be highly organised, independent and capable of managing competing priorities to ensure effective communications
  • Have the ability to adapt and reprioritise work to meet deadlines that may change frequently, and work individually and with others within a small dynamic and dedicated team
  • Be experienced in dynamic and conceptual thinking
  • Have high level problem solving skills.
