Electromagnetic Warfare and Intelligence Systems Land SPO (EWIS Land) is seeking a highly motivated and skilled communication Technical Team Leader.

The Technical Team Leader will be able to perform and achieve complex technical communication work in compliance with legislative frameworks, government decision making and Defence's mission and policy requirements.


As the Technical Team Leader, you will manage a small team that provides detailed technical and professional advice in relation to state of the art Tactical Electronic Warfare systems and contribute to strategic planning, program and project management and policy development.

You will be able to work autonomously and display high levels of initiative and judgment when working on technical problems and shifting priorities.


About our Team


The EWIS Land Engineering and Technical Team is comprised of members of diverse skills and disciplines who work together to provide governance, assurance and enabling services to support a wide variety of activities undertaken by EWIS Land Executive and SPO business units.


  • Perform complex communication technical activities and associated tasks working to agreed priorities and outcomes.
  • Lead and manage a small team of technical officers.
  • Develop and maintain technical knowledge of relevant processes, packages, product and equipment.
  • Assess whether technical packages, reports, processes, product and equipment performance meet the specified requirements, provide recommendations for continuous improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure safety aspects of Defence capability are considered and incorporated into communications technical activities and tasks.
  • Build and sustain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Have highly developed communication skills.
