    As one of the world's leading grains research organisations, the Grains Research and Development Corporation (GRDC) plays an integral role in driving research outcomes and innovations that directly benefit the Australian grain industry.

    We are seeking a User Experience Manager in Canberra to lead UX research efforts, advocating for user needs, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver intuitive and engaging digital experiences.

    Responsibilities

    • Establish the organisation's UX research approach, working closely with the Digital team to understand requirements and user needs.
    • Use human centred design to develop innovative and user-centric solutions that meet business objectives and enhance the overall user experience.
    • Conduct user research, including user interviews, surveys, and usability testing, to gain insights into user behaviours, preferences, and pain points.
    • Collaborate with other stakeholders to ensure a consistent and cohesive user experience and the successful implementation of UX designs across digital platforms.
    • Advocate for the importance of user experience within the organisation, influencing stakeholders to prioritise user-centered design principles in decision-making processes.
    • Serve as a subject matter expert on UX, providing guidance and support to the Digital team on UX best practices, tools, and techniques.
    • Develop business cases, proposals and procurement plans in order to manage UX related investments.

    Candidate Profile:

    • Bachelor's or master's degree in human-Computer Interaction, Design, Psychology, or related field.
    • Deep understanding of user-centered design principles and methodologies, including design thinking, user research, prototyping, and usability testing.
    • Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Sketch, Adobe XD, Figma, or similar is desirable.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate design concepts and rationale to stakeholders.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate user insights into actionable design solutions.
    • Experience working in Agile development environments is a plus.
