Regional Member Experience Manager, ACT/South Coast, Australian Military Bank

Position Summary

The Regional Manager is responsible for the growth and development of business within the region, the performance of regional staff, and compliance with Australian Military Bank's policies and procedures.

The position is responsible for achieving regional sales targets, ensuring strong member focus, and developing and monitoring regional team objectives.

The Regional Manager is responsible for building brand awareness within the defence community and building relationships with key defence partners and related stakeholders.


Major Areas of Responsibility
Sales & Business Development (60% of role)

(Home Loan Funding, Consumer Lending Funding, CCI Sales, GI and Retail Deposit Growth, Super & Pension Sales)

  • Responsible for achieving regional sales and funding targets.
  • Know and manage the business effectively.
  • Develop and implement sales goals and action plans within the region directly tied into measurable results through timely and consistent execution.
  • Understanding of own business performance and local environment communicated effectively through business development reporting
  • Ability to work to business deadlines
  • Communication to Executive team of branch and base dominance activities
  • Set high expectations for excellent member service and hold the team accountable to the measurable results.
  • Build new relationships with defence and partners to increase membership growth and member satisfaction/engagement.
  • Effectively manage and resolve member disputes and complaints
  • Effectively utilise and embed the internal sales methodologies and processes
Leadership (15%)

  • Responsible for ensuring all staff are adequately coached and developed to a level where they are competent to attend to day to day branch activities.
  • Retention of quality employees
  • Accountable for ensuring any identified trends of underperformance are formally addressed with staff, and clearly documented performance improvement plans are in place.
  • Responsible to consistently and effectively communicate the company objectives to all branches.

Major Challenges


Ensure that all operations are in line with company standards: WHS, legislative compliance, adherence to Australian Military Bank policies and procedures.

Effective time management skills to ensure capability to multi-task and meet deadlines. Ability to analyse workload and effectively prioritise workload and delegate responsibilities. Flexibility and openness to change. Provide effective leadership to staff to ensure a stable and open working environment. Communication and inter-personal skills - capable of creating new relationships with base personnel and base contractors.


Knowledge / Skills / Experience

Technical Skills
Previous banking and finance experience Intermediate to advanced computer skills


Previous Experience
Previous leadership and coaching skills

Previous stakeholder and liaison skills

Demonstrated ability to meet sales and service targets

Lending experience ( experience with a DLAA highly desirable).


Other Skills
Previous lending experience and experience with preparation of loan submissions

Previous experience in reading and preparing sales reports.


Qualifications

Essential

  • Tier 2 financial services

Desirable

  • Cert IV in Financial Services, Frontline Management or other relative streams, e.g Credit.
