    Calico is one of Australia's most established and respected digital agencies - flexible remote with a home base in Melbourne's CBD. We are seeking a talented Front End developer to join our growing team. You will be working on well organised projects for high profile clients like Zoos Victoria, Melbourne Polytechnic, The Royal Botanic Gardens, The Melbourne International Comedy Festival and many more.     This is a Full Time role in a Hybrid WFH/WFO setup subject to the experience and location of candidate.

    You will be part of a team of highly experienced .NET engineers, FEDs, visual and UX designers and project managers. If you are passionate, deeply technical and value the benefits of working in a tightly knit team, please apply

    Requirements

  • 4+ years front end development experience
  • Solid understanding of React or equivalent Javascript frameworks
  • Experience working with Webpack or other Javascript based build tools
  • Strong CSS3 and SCSS knowledge
  • Knowledge of BEM / SMACSS or equivalent methodology
  • Understanding and experience developing for WCAG AA guidelines
  • Strong understanding of developing cross browser solutions
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to build and foster strong working relationships with colleagues
  • Version control using git
  • Attention to pixel perfect details

    • Nice to have, not essential:

  • Practical knowledge of software development/engineering methodology
  • Experience with WordPress, Drupal, Laravel or Umbraco
  • Experience working collaboratively with backend developers
  • Image formats and optimisation for the web (PNG, JPEG, SVG)
  • Front end testing methodology
  • Knowledge of Object Oriented design patterns
  • Command line knowledge
