    Description

    You will be responsible for

    :
    • Ensuring site safety protocols and standards are applied across all work undertaken
    • Supervising of mechanical fitters working within the area of responsibility and allocating day-to-day work priorities
    • Developing and fostering ongoing working relationships with counterparts from other departments to ensure the prioritisation of maintenance activities are balanced across site
    • Ensuring all maintenance targets are achieved and the plant is maintained in a safe condition
    • Identify competence requirements for work tasks
    • Assessing training requirements of team members
    • Measuring team performance
    • Providing input for area of responsibility, during preparation of annual departmental budget
    • Providing direct supervision of sub-contractors working within the area of responsibility
    About You
    This role would suit a person who possesses both technical competence and strong people management skills to be an effective leader in a customer focused environment.
    You will have:
    • Trade qualification in Mechanical Fitting or trade qualification in any other mechanical trade coupled with fixed plant mechanical maintenance experience
    • Demonstrated supervisory experience in the mechanical field
    • Proven ability to be objective and fair when managing people
    • Able to develop, communicate and adhere to implementation and execution schedules
    • Good computer skills with the ability to use integrated management systems, word processing, presentation and spread sheet applications
    • Past experience in managing costs and budgeting
    • A high-level of understanding all relevant legislation relevant to role in the mining industry in Western Australia.
