We are seeking a motivated and engaging
Supervisor Maintenance Fixed Plant to lead our site-based to lead a team of maintainers providing maintenance to fixed plant assets at
Gudai-Darri


You will be an inspiring role model and coach for positive behaviours, practices and processes, whilst providing leadership, development and support to your team, with the aim of driving consistent performance and innovation in relation to safety, cost and production.

Reporting to the Superintendent Plant Maintenance and working in a challenging and exciting environment within the Plant department, you will be:

  • Managing scheduled daily maintenance and shutdown maintenance with a high performing team of tradespersons.
  • Supporting, coaching and mentoring a team to ensure optimal delivery against performance and safety targets
  • Building and maintain relationships with multiple stakeholders to align on operational plans and strategies
  • Driving effective cost management initiatives by identifying & implementing costsaving opportunities
  • Fostering a culture of continuous improvement, supporting the team in the implement initiatives
  • Championing continuous improvement by identifying and implementing changes to optimise work practices and provide technical solutions to improve plant performance

Where you'll be working
Our $A3.6 billion Gudai-Darri iron ore mine is our most technologically advanced mine.

In addition to leveraging technology already in use across Rio Tinto, such as autonomous trucks, trains and drills, Gudai-Darri also has more than 70 design innovations including a reclaimer with a rotable bucket wheel, a world class laboratory and in-field access to data and systems for all team members.

The Caterpillar mining fleet at Gudai-Darri includes autonomous trucks, production drills, and in a world first, autonomous water carts.


Located 110km north-west of Newman, Gudai-Darri will produce up to 43 million tonnes of iron ore a year in its first phase, contributing to our flagship product, the Pilbara Blend.

It will also become a production hub for our iron ore business, incorporating world class infrastructure and a 166-kilometre rail line connecting the mine to our existing network.

Gudai-Darri is creating jobs and business opportunities in Western Australia. More than 2,000 people have been employed as part of its construction with approximately 600 permanent operational roles created.
