    OVERVIEW ABOUT UGL

    Our New Energy business unit is growing rapidly, and we're looking for skilled and motivated individuals to join our team. Our goal is to become the top renewable engineering and delivery contractor in the market, and we believe that our in-house engineering and design capabilities, combined with our expertise in project delivery and O&M, give us a strong competitive edge. We're actively pursuing project opportunities in Solar, BESS, and Wind, as well as hybrid fossil fuel generation, hydrogen, and ammonia projects.
    As we continue to deliver & evolve, we are looking for an experienced Commercial Manager to join our team.

    About the role
    The Commercial Manager's role involves overseeing all the commercial aspects of the project from start to finish. They will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with the client contract and aiming to maximize project profits.

    What will a day in this role look like:

    • During bids, provide regular, clear briefings, analyses and summaries of complex legal, technical, and commercial bid and contract issues for non-specialist audiences and executives.
    • Provide governance oversight of client contracts to ensure compliance to obligations, pro-active pursuit of entitlements and opportunities to maximize project profitability.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage project commercial matters and finances effectively.
    • Develop and implement commercial strategies to support project goals.
    • Monitor and analyze project financial performance, identifying areas for improvement.
    • Negotiate key supply and works subcontracts and obtain all necessary internal approvals for any derogations from UGL standard subcontract terms in accordance with UGL Procurement Policy

    What are we looking for you to bring to the team:

    • Degree in Accounting or Law
    • Proven experience as a Commercial Manager in the Renewables, Utilities, or any EPC industry
    • Significant strategic commercial experience in a hard dollar or lump sum environment, preferably within large construction and engineering companies.
    • Strong understanding of project finance and contract management.
    • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
