    Description

    Randstad are currently working with a large Government department to find an experienced Data Business Analyst for an initial 9 Month Contract with possibility of extension. This role is based in Brisbane CBD with WFH Flexibility. PLEASE NOTE: This is not a remote role - please do not apply unless based in Brisbane or planning on relocating.

    Key Duties:

    • Consult with stakeholders and analyse existing data schemas to establish the foundation definitions of the Master Data Assets.
    • Conduct requirements gathering workshops with diverse stakeholders including both business stakeholders and technical experts, from practitioners to executives.
    • Analyse and document Business Entities as Data Assets, including all data elements and their associated synonyms, lineage, business rules.
    • Gather requirements and develop technical specification documents such as business requirements documentation, report functional specifications, system requirements specification etc.
    • Gather requirements for business processes to inform Data Dictionary and Meta Data Library, providing further detail for each data element in the Master Data.
    • Document Business Glossary, to define Master Data in common, business language and associated business processes.
    • Identify and problem solve issues/inefficiencies in current state source data.
    • Assist in preparing requirements documentation for a master data management solution within a contemporary enterprise data platform.
    • Document current state and target state business processes.
    • Document data transformation rules and data cleansing rules.

    The ideal candidate for this role will possess:

    • Strong understanding of contemporary data/business intelligence technologies and approaches and the supporting enterprise-level data governance/management required
    • In-depth experience working as a Business Analyst in the data and analytics field.
    • Ability to document source data and identify issues/inefficiencies in current state.
    • Strong stakeholder management and engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate with business staff to help manage the decision-making process to define data definitions, including master data and master data management requirements.
    • Knowledge of data platform and data modelling principles and schema.
    • Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills.
    • Knowledge of Data Governance concepts including Privacy and Security considerations.
    • Experience in M365 tool set, including MS Teams and SharePoint.
    • Demonstrated experience working with multiple and different stakeholder groups concurrently.
    • Demonstrated experience in working with cloud-based data transformation.
    • Previous experience working as a Business Analyst on a large Business Analytics and Data Platform Program or equivalent is necessary.
