About the role
All proceeds raised via the World for Pets stores assists RSPCA Qld in caring for over 47,000 animals annually. This position offers a perfect chance to merge your dedication to animal welfare with your sales expertise. As the Assistant Manager, you will also serve as an enthusiastic representative of the RSPCA Qld brand.

We are seeking an individual with excellent leadership skills, to be actively involved with the team, and foster a positive team environment while delivering exceptional service.


  • Supporting the manager in the daily operations of the World for Pets Store.
  • Manage the day to day needs of World for Pets Store.
  • Manage opening & closing of the World for Pets Store.
  • Staff training and supervising sales & merchandising under the direction of the Store Manager.
  • Provide conflict resolutions for staff and customers' problems.
  • Prioritise, coordinate, and monitor workflow.
  • Provide both informal and formal feedback to staff.
  • Assisting customers with sales and enquiries.
  • Ensuring that sales budgets are met.
  • Maintaining and replenishing stock.
  • Complete daily reconciliation of tills.

  • The ability to work within a team to achieve the stores goals and objectives.
  • The ability to supervise and provide direction and guidance to other employees/volunteers including the ability to assist in the provision of onthejob training and induction.
  • The ability to establish and maintain effective and harmonious working relationship with volunteers, staff, and management to promote and support the RSPCA Qld.
  • Accuracy in money handling and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to perform physical duties including manual handling, and an ability to handle a minimum weight of 10 kilos.


This is a full-time position, working 38 hours per week across a seven-day roster,
including regular weekend shifts. Remuneration is as per the General Retail Industry Award, Level 6 $26.15 (junior rates may apply).
