About the role


You will provide vital help to all creatures great and small by providing maintenance direction and advice in all areas of construction and maintenance.

You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with building codes and standards, whilst overseeing RSPCA Qld presentation standards.

  • Identify, contribute and support the development and implementation of Facilities Management strategies, policies, procedures and programs to achieve continuous improvement initiatives within the facility.
  • Perform minor repairs and maintenance throughout the Wacol Campus including utilisation of equipment or engage external contractors when required.
  • Recommend type and specifications of equipment purchases required to maintain the campus.
  • Conduct general labouring hands on duties.
  • Grounds maintenance assisting the Gardener.

Who are we looking for?

  • Current auto driver's licence is required; manual licence is preferred but not essential.
  • General Construction Safety Card
  • White/Blue Card.
  • Relevant trade qualifications and/or demonstrated experience in the building services industry.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with a focus on documentation and procedure.
  • Experience and ability to deliver high quality service to customers.
  • A proven ability to accurately scope, cost and deliver projects on time, within budget and to agreed outcomes.
  • Working knowledge of legislation and an understanding of common building and construction services principles to effectively perform in this role.


This is a full-time position, working 38 hours per week Monday to Friday, primarily servicing our Wacol Animal Care Campus and providing support to our sites within the South-East Queensland region.

Remuneration is as per the Gardening and Landscaping Services Award commensurate with skills, qualifications and experience.
