- Understand and maintain a record of costs associated with tailings management, including maintenance, operation, construction, professional services, and studies.
- Update and maintain the risk registers, operation, maintenance & surveillance (OMS) manuals, including emergency preparedness and response plans, site tailings management system.
- Prepare quarterly TSF management reports for the sites, as well as develop and maintain the Tailings Management Plan (TMP) for the operations.
- Review tailings deposition and tailings capacity quarterly and develop and maintain a short-term (quarterly) deposition plan for implementation on site.
- Support site teams in the design, construction, operation, and closure aspects of the TSF
- Establish and maintain a formal relationship with the Engineers of Record (EoRs);
- Evaluating geological, hydro technical and geotechnical information.
- A University bachelor's degree in civil or Geotechnical Engineering or a related field
- Exposure to operating mines and tailings storage facility design and management
- Experience coordinating TSF site investigations, construction, and commissioning.
- Practical knowledge of IT engineering systems that analyse slope stability, seepage, hydraulic modelling, and deposition modelling (e.g., GeoStudio, Rocscience, Muk3D, Rift)
- A valid Driver's Licence

Role Details:
Reporting to the Processing Manager, to ensure the highest standards of safety, compliance, and operational excellence in the management of Tailings Storage Facilities (TSFs) across all phases of their lifecycle, from planning and design through to closure and rehabilitation. This encompasses a comprehensive approach to risk management, ensuring adherence to principal mining hazard control standards, GFL TSF Management Standards, and applicable environmental and dam safety regulations. As a critical liaison between the site leadership, the Responsible Tailings Facility Engineer (RTFE), the Engineer of Record (EoR), and various stakeholders, the individual in this role will play a key role in upholding the integrity and safety of the TSFs, while also fostering strategic alignment with the overarching objectives set by the RTFE.

This position is offered as a site-based role on a FIFO from Perth roster of 8 days on, 6 days off, 4 days on and 3 days off.
