    We are recruiting on behalf of a Federal Government Department that is a vital member of Australia's national security community. This Department works across the full spectrum of operations required of contemporary signals intelligence and security agencies.

    This Department is seeking an experience Systems Administrators to join their team for a long term opportunities within a secure working environment. We are recruiting for 3 different System Administrator positions

    SFIA Skills required for this role are as follows;

    Role 1: ITSP 5, SYSP 5, USUP 5

    Role 2: HWDE 4, HSIN 4, SYSP 4, SINT

    Role 3: SYSP 5, ASUP 5, SINT 4, HSIN 4, ITOP 4, STMG 4

    Major Responsibilities

    Role 1:

    • Provide the technical direction for installation, configuration, security, sustainment and enhancement of Microsoft technologies enabling delivery of services to ICT platforms utilising Commonwealth approved designs.
    • Provide leadership and direction to ensuring integration and consistency of supported environments, technologies and services, maintaining and applying knowledge, experience and skills to meet ASD's capability needs.

    Role 2:

    • Design, install and maintain all server hardware and software systems.
    • Conduct Linux systems administration including Operating System installation, configuration, integration, hardening, software and patch management and documentation of Cyber Security Capability.
    • System patching including Red Hat Ansible, Red Hat Satellite automation, configuration management and deployment tools.

    Role 3:

    • Lead and manage installation, configuration and maintenance of Linux based systems.
    • Engage Puppet and Ansible for development of, and continuous configuration management of system builds.
    • Manage and provide advice for ongoing hardware and operating system support.

    Key Experience required

    Role 1: N/A

    Role 2:

    • Knowledge and experience in Authentication and Authorisation technologies (experience with Red Hat IPA is preferred).
    • Understanding of various protocols (i.e. DNS, DHCP, NTP) and proxies (i.e. web proxies).
    • Experience in one of the following preferred technologies:
      • Software defined storage technologies (i.e. CEPH).
      • Cloud Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS, e.g. Red Hat OpenStack, AWS);
      • Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS, e.g. Red Hat Open Shift);
      • Containers (e.g. Docker) technologies;
      • Splunk;
      • Elastic Search (ES).

    Role 3:

    • Hadoop
