    The Procurement team at Whitehorse City Council are transforming as we embark on a journey to become a customer-centric, high performing team, focused on optimising supply chain processes and costs for our organisation.

    We are seeking an enthusiastic, driven, and innovative person to help us turn our goals into actions.
    As a Procurement Business Partner, you will report to the Coordinator Procurement.

    Supporting the design and execution of our strategic plan you will ultimately deliver on value for money and mutually beneficial outcomes for Council within a robust governance framework.

    Focusing on providing high level specialist advice on procurement and contracting activities you will partner with stakeholders and take accountability for the effective delivery of procurement strategies and services.

    You will achieve this through leading on complex engagements where you will take accountability for aligning on the procurement plan, contract management and category management through the lens of social, environmental and economic sustainability objectives

    About you:
    You will bring a strategic mindset along with substantial experience and/or knowledge of procurement and contract management.

    Your demonstrated understanding of contract law is matched only by your ability to commercially interpret legal implication of terms and conditions and how you safeguard Council interests.

    Having worked at enterprise scale you are able to navigate a complex and diverse portfolio to ensure you are delivering the best outcomes including and beyond just the financials.

    To be considered for this position you will have:

    A tertiary qualification in business, commerce, procurement, or a related field and / or knowledge and substantial experience in procurement and contract management.

    Demonstrated ability to provide strategic procurement and probity advice to ensure best value outcomes.
    Demonstrated experience in managing and challenging multiple stakeholders through negotiation and discussion.
    Sound understanding of contract law and the Local Government Act desirable.
