    Global Fund Manager Highly Analytical Role, Significant Stakeholder Engagement Suit FP&A Background in FS/Retail/Product

    This is an excellent opportunity to join a market leading global investment manager who is renowned for its strong working culture and is widely considered an employer of choice. They have a strong and emerging presence in the Australian market and have recently enjoyed an exciting period of growth.

    Due to team expansion an outstanding new role has arisen for an experienced senior finance professional to drive finance partnering and commercial/analytical support to the Retail Investor division, to help enable effective business decision making and the achievement of strategic plans and goals.

    Specific responsibilities will include:

    Reporting

    • Responsibility over production of monthly divisional results including, consolidated and business line performance, partnering with business leads to appraise actual performance vs plan;
    • Provide detailed commentary of performance which connects the financial results to the underlying business drivers (volume, rate, market impacts).
    • Proactively identify and manage risk and opportunity to meet planned commitments.

    Modelling

    • Develop and maintain a fit for purpose driver-based model which captures key assumptions that underpin P&L submissions of the Retail division's performance. This includes modelling for cashflow, direct costs and shared services support, on an annual and 10-year basis.
    • Modeling in support of business cases - including conducting various sensitivity and scenario analysis as required, delivering calculations of key investment metrics IRR, NPV, Payback etc.

    Planning and Forecasting

    • Partner with business leads to facilitate and capture portfolio plans and assumptions in planning and forecasting cycles.
    • Contribute to the Enterprise reporting presentations (eg Quarterly Business Reviews and Long-Term Plan Review) ensuring that a clear and concise narrative of the Retail division is represented, reflecting the financial performance and strategic goals of the division.

    Adhoc Analysis & Process Improvement

    • Conduct periodic reviews to help assess the health and progress of various product lines and distribution channels.
    • Manage responses to requests for information related to internal business statistics and trends;
    • Provide thought leadership to the development of financial methodologies and approaches, whilst developing and embedding necessary planning and reporting process improvement opportunities.

    Candidate Experience

    We are seeking a high performing individual with first class financial modelling and analytical skills, together with a high level of detail orientation and sound commercial acumen.

    CA/CPA qualified, you will have approximately 10+ years' experience in commercial FP&A with a background within a banking, investment management or retail/consumer/product environment where you have gained strong exposure to customer volumes, margins and product analysis, customer behaviour analytics, revenue and cost etc.

    Furthermore the ability to model this data, draw insights and use it to drive decision making is paramount, therefore highly developed skills in engagement, influence and building strong working relationships will be critical to your success in this role.
