    Description

    This is an open Expression of Interest for a Casual Academic role within the

    Discipline of Work and Organisational Studies. Depending on the individual role to be filled, activities may involve teaching-related duties such as presenting classes (depending on qualifications and unit of study, this could include lectures, tutorials or workshops), providing support to lectures/workshops, delivering tutorials, marking and academic administration where required.

    Casual rates for academic teaching duties will be commensurate with the role being undertaken. Pay rates can be found within the University of Sydney Enterprise Agreement and will be applied, where relevant.

    In order to meet TEQSA requirements, applicants must possess a qualification one level higher than the level they are applying for or possess equivalent professional experience.

    About the Discipline of Work and Organisational Studies

    The Discipline of Work and Organisational Studies offers a full range of subjects at both undergraduate and graduate levels. These subjects are taught by internationally-respected academic staff whose research interests cover a wide range of fields including: globalisation and employment relations, human resource management, industrial relations policy, work and family issues, union strategy, labour mobility, occupational health and safety, critical management studies, performance management, geographies of work, organisational communication, critical organisation studies, organisational discourse, identities at work, leadership and organisational psychology.

    About you

    Expressions of Interest are welcome from individuals who:

    Present relevant qualifications or experience
    - Provide evidence of high-quality teaching experience in one or more of the major areas in Work and Organisational Studies, namely:
    * human resource data management

    industrial relations policy
    * labour law
    * leadership
    * management communications
    * organisational analysis and behaviour
    * organisational psychology
    * performance and reward management
    * sociology of work and future of work
    * workplace industrial relations
    - Successfully engage students and ensure a supportive and positive learning experience
    - Demonstrate successful teamwork and a collegial approach
    - Use initiative and contribute effectively to the unit of study they are teaching on

    Function in a flexible and ever-changing environment
    - Abide by the University's principles of diversity and inclusion
    - Ensure a safe working environment for self and others.
