About The Opportunity
The Director of Medical Services (DMS) is a member of the Bowral & District Hospital executive management team and leads, develops and manages effective, efficient and safe medical services at the Hospital to meet organisational and community needs

  • As the Director of Medical Services, you will lead a medical team to deliver quality Medical Services to our patients within our community. You will drive and create a positive workplace culture through respectful communication and by balancing the needs of staff and service delivery outcomes.

About Bowral & District Hospital- New state of the art hospital - opened in December 2020. Strong connection with the local community free car parking located in a vibrant semi rural region close to major capital cities of Sydney and Canberra and the NSW coast- The Southern Highlands of NSW is made up of 34 towns and villages, providing both a rural yet cosmopolitan lifestyle of cafes, restaurants and wineries, offering a diverse range of industry, sports, arts and culture, affordable housing, excellent schools, all less than 1.5 hours travel to Sydney, Canberra and the coast

What you'll be doing

  • The Bowral & District Hospital (B&DH) is part of the South Western Sydney Local Health District (SWSLHD) and has close links to nearby major referral hospitals including Campbelltown and Liverpool Hospitals. The Director Medical Services (DMS) is a key member of the B&DH leadership team and is accountable in collaboration with senior clinical and management colleagues for ensuring the delivery of quality clinical outcomes, B&DH KPIs and strategic priorities. The DMS will implement effective and efficient operational management of medical services at the hospital and ensure high quality care is provided to our community. The position will work in close partnership with the senior nursing management team and other operational managers. The DMS will also lead the development of the medical workforce at the B&DH including appropriate educational and accreditation activities.

How to Apply

  • Registered Medical Practitioner with the Medical Board of Australia
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Medical Administrators (FRACMA) or other Specialist recognition as provided under the Staff Specialists (State) award.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills within a complex health service with the ability to motivate and organise staff to achieve organisational, program and professional outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability and experience in clinical strategic planning and clinical leadership for the provision of programs and services consistent with the responsibilities of the position.
