    Description

    Helia, as Australia's first Lenders Mortgage Insurance (LMI) provider, with over 50 years expertise in the Australian housing market are in the process of re-inventing ourselves.

    TechOps follows a Squad/Spotify model – we form in self-managing teams to solve key business problems. Team members need to be 'specialist generalists' i.e. each person brings their key domain knowledge but are also eager to work on other roles to ensure the squad meets its outcomes.

    The Operations Insights Analyst works within the TechOps Customer Hub and is responsible for analysing operational data and providing insights to improve efficiency, productivity and decision-making. They will be curious, with a strong desire to understand trends and cover root causes. They will have self-drive to engage with both internal and external stakeholders to gather data, and strong technical skills to analyse data and produce key insights to empower cross functional teams to make data informed decisions to enhance the customer experience.

    This is a 12-month fixed term contract.

    Responsibilities

    • Sourcing, cleansing, analysing & communicating data sets related to various aspects of Helia's operations. This could include application metrics, sales data, customer feedback, third party data etc.
    • Monitoring key operational performance data, including developing dashboards and reports to help visualise this data for stakeholders
    • Identifying trends, patterns and anomalies in data and investigating root causes, including sourcing additional data to understand why certain outcomes are occurring
    • Summarising analysis into key insights that can be shared with stakeholders and customers, leveraging data visualisation techniques
    • Attending customer and stakeholder meetings to support the business owner presenting and discussing insights
    • Responding to adhoc queries from stakeholders and customers relating to operational data

    Adhering to the compliance obligations relevant to your position; perform your duties in an ethical, lawful, and safe manner; undertake training as directed by the Compliance Leader; report and escalate compliance concerns, issues, and failures; and disclose potential conflicts of interest.

    Qualifications

    You should have an analytical mindset that challenges and questions, from an objective viewpoint. You will be commercially astute and be able to form a view or opinion using multiple sources, as well as demonstrate the following attributes:

    • A curious mind, with data exploration at the forefront
    • Analytical skills including demonstrated experience of working with data to provide actionable insights
    • Ability to work with internal and external stakeholders to source relevant data
    • Extensive experience with querying languages – preferably snowflake SQL
    • Experience with Tableau or PowerBI for effective data visualisation
    • Ability to communicate insights to different levels of management
    • Commercial acumen and market awareness
    • Attention to detail and results orientated
    • Demonstrated experience in an operational environment
    • Experience working with customers to understand needs rather than wants
    • Financial background or LMI experience/knowledge desirable
    • Intermediate Excel skills
    • Open mindedness – understand how industry or policy changes can impact the business
