    Application Support Engineer

    Job Description:

    We are currently seeking a talented Application Support Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and enhancement of our current application platforms. You will play a vital role in optimizing the system setup and ensuring its smooth operation. As part of a small team, you will also contribute to the overall management of our IT infrastructure. Your expertise and technical skills will be crucial in providing top-notch support to our internal stakeholders and assisting in the transition to cloud technology.

    Responsibilities:

    • Install, maintain, and monitor the application server platform, primarily Jboss EAP.
    • Manage and support databases, including MMSQL, Oracle, and Postgres, including backup and restore tasks. Experience in database administration and SQL execution will be advantageous.
    • Collaborate with the IT infrastructure team to ensure efficient operations.
    • Facilitate regular feedback and consulting sessions with other offices.
    • Work with both Linux and Windows environments.
    • Execute system management tasks, such as patching and maintaining application platforms like JBOSS and SQL.
    • Assist in the transition to cloud technology, particularly Azure, and demonstrate proficiency in Kubernetes, Microservices, and Container deployment.
    • Comply with security policies and execute tasks accordingly.
    • Improve and automate internal tools for application management.
    • Establish and implement application management procedures.
    • Execute various application management tasks.
    • Provide technical consulting to our customers while primarily working in an internal environment.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in IT or equivalent certification in Application Platforms (JBOSS/MS SQL) or a solid background in this field.
    • Several years of experience as a System Engineer (Systems/Applications Support).
    • Proficiency in one or more of the following domains:
      • Linux/Windows
      • JBoss/Websphere
      • Databases: Oracle/SQL Server/Postgres
      • Bamboo/Jenkins
      • Container technologies (open container initiative)
      • Azure IaaS and Networking
      • GitOps
    • Strong interest in providing all-round IT support, including hardware, Linux and Windows systems, networks, and firewalls.
    • Emphasis on automation, monitoring, and configuration management.
    • Excellent analytical skills, proactive mindset, and a motivated team player.
    • Hands-on approach and enthusiasm for tackling challenging technical tasks.
    • Natural inclination towards creativity and innovation.
    • Willingness to travel occasionally.
