- A clinical specialist qualification (DECVIM-CA, DACVIM or FANZCVS) (Level C) or eligibility to take specialist qualifications (Level B) in small animal medicine.
- Evidence of excellence in clinical work, and a high level of clinical competence across a range of small animal medicine cases.
- Ability to direct a clinical team within a small animal medicine referral service.
- Teaching experience at an undergraduate and postgraduate level alongside supervisory experience of honours, Masters by Coursework, HDR and postgraduate students or residents in training.
- Evidence of completion of clinical research, securing competitive grants, or producing high quality research outputs.
- High level of written and oral English communication skills and the ability to work effectively as a member of an interdisciplinary and collegial team.
- Ability to work under broad direction and exercise initiative in undertaking responsibilities.

About Us
The School of Veterinary Medicine at Murdoch University provides Western Australia's only Veterinary Science course and is responsible for the training and development of graduates within our internationally recognised degree programme.
Small Animal Medicine is a key discipline within this school, and contributes to the teaching of all veterinary students, conducts postgraduate research and specialist clinical training programmes, offers continuing professional development to practitioners within Western Australia and beyond, contributes to research of international standard, and provides a clinical referral service for the Animal Hospital, delivering high quality veterinary care to dogs and cats within the community.
The Role
A Lecturer / Senior Lecturer within the Clinical or Professional Practice Scholar (CPPS) track is expected to undertake clinical work within the Animal Hospital as part of a multidisciplinary team of specialists. Murdoch University runs an ECVIM-CA (Internal Medicine) residency training programme; therefore, participation in resident training is also essential. Teaching, through preparation and delivery of lectures, tutorials, and other teaching activities, is also required. There is flexibility to allow you to develop new and innovative clinical, teaching and research directions, and to place more emphasis on either teaching or research depending on your interests and career goals. Further qualifications in teaching or research are supported.
