Position Purpose
The key purpose of this role is to safely drive veterinary students to field trips (Perth and southern WA region) in a vehicle from MU this may include a 12 seater mini bus.

About the Work Area
Murdoch University is home to the only Veterinary School in Western Australia, and its prestigious teaching hospital provides the clinical facility that enables students to have the clinical 'hands-on' opportunity.
It also provides a service to community through its team of top specialists who oversee the care and treatment of all animals referred to the Hospital.
The Animal Hospital At Murdoch University (TAHMU) aims to provide an environment where high professional and clinical standards, based on available scientific evidence, are tempered with genuine care and compassion.

Key Responsibilities/Duties
- Driving lecturer and students to field trips around Perth metro and southern WA areas safely and efficiently.
- Park vehicle in a safe area and drive lecturer and students back to the University upon the end of each field visit.
- Maintain a high level of concentration while driving
- Complying with government regulations on passenger and goods transport
- Ensuring the safety of passengers and goods
- Following the designated route and meeting delivery deadlines
Selection Criteria
Essential
- Possession of appropriate driving licence (minimum class: C)
- Demonstrated reliability, flexibility and punctuality
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, and the demonstrated capability and willingness to interact constructively with staff at all levels of an organisation.
- Excellent organisational, time and workload management skills
- Availability for long distance journeys/overnight stays
- Demonstrated ability to use initiative to resolve problems
- Demonstrated ability to work cohesively in a team environment
Desirable
- Previous experience working as a school or University driver
Work Requirements
- Ability to work outside of normal office hours when required.
- Be able to provide evidence of appropriate vaccination or immunity in accordance with the University's Immunisation Policy. (please check the Immunisation Policy if the role requires this)
