We are currently seeking a highly motivated General Manager who excels in building strong relationships with both our team and stakeholders.

In this key role, you will be responsible for overseeing the administration of our Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Service, ensuring the delivery of outstanding patient care and prioritising the well-being of our dedicated staff.


Western Australian Veterinary Emergency and Specialty (WAVES) is a veterinary referral hospital that provides veterinary emergency and specialist care for family pets, treating them as we would treat our family members.


WAVES is home to a number of specialty referral services which includes Emergency and Critical Care, Surgery, Internal Medicine, Dermatology, Anaesthesia and Diagnostic Imaging.


Our clinical staff are friendly, dedicated, empathetic, compassionate and highly knowledgeable veterinarians, nurses and support staff who together, provide the highest level of care possible for the pets in Perth in a supportive partnership with the pet's general practitioner.


Responsibilities:


  • Collaborate with and support the management team to envision and execute strategic plans for the service's growth and advancement.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with team members, encouraging collaboration, professional growth, and a shared dedication to delivering exceptional care.
  • Foster a positive and supportive work environment, leading a diverse team of veterinarians, veterinary nurses, and support staff.
  • Create and implement policies and procedures that prioritise patient wellbeing and enhance client experiences.
  • Collaborate with individuals and the team to achieve outcomes that enhance the wellbeing of our staff and contribute to a positive work culture
  • Thoughtfully manage the department's budget, balancing revenue generation and cost control to ensure longterm success.
  • Foster partnerships with referring veterinarians and other stakeholders, nurturing a strong network within the veterinary community.
  • Possess qualifications in business management, veterinary management, HR or a related field.
  • Demonstrates proven leadership experience in a veterinary hospital, healthcare or similar environment.
  • Displays excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a natural ability to connect and build meaningful relationships with clients, staff, and stakeholders.
  • Exhibits outstanding organisational and problemsolving abilities, showcasing a strategic mindset that foresses future needs and plans accordingly.
  • Demonstrates adeptness in managing a diverse team, offering constructive feedback, and cultivating a positive work culture.
  • Possessesing knowledge of veterinary or human medical terminology, procedures, and best practices would be advantageous.
  • Familiarity with medical billing and recordkeeping systems would also be advantageous.
  • Radiates a genuine passion for animal care and a strong commitment to delivering exceptional service.

Salary:
$120, $160,000.00 per year
