    Our client is seeking to engage an APS5 Senior Project Officer

    Location: Melbourne, VIC

    Contract Length: Start- ASAP, End – 28/06/2024

    Eligibility/Security Requirement:Australian Citizenship

    Role Overview:

    As APS 5, Engagement Officer, the occupant of this position is expected to:

    • coordinate and/or assist agency level responses to submissions, reviews, consultations and other information and engagement requests
    • provide secretariat support and contribute to domestic and international forums
    • prepare succinct high-quality written material with clear objectives and explicit calls for action
    • assist in managing inbound and outbound international delegations: coordination and compilation of briefings, and other associated administrative support
    • support the Agency's international engagement strategy
    • report to Agency executive on international engagements undertaken by the Agency.

    Role Functions:

    Business -

    • Builds and sustains relationships with a network of key people internally and externally.
    • Proactively manages stakeholder relationships, including the management of expectations.
    • Confidently and effectively communicates messages in a clear, concise, and persuasive manner with a focus on key points.
    • Delivers projects on time.

    Leadership -

    • Takes personal responsibility for meeting objectives and progressing work.
    • Shows initiative and proactively steps in and does what is required.
    • Collaborates, participates and contributes to the Section and Branch work plans and broader organisational and APS objectives.
    • Models and promotes a healthy and safe working environment, modelling and promoting ethical behaviour and practise consistent with APS code of conduct and APS values.

    Specialist / Technical -

    • Capacity to plan and coordinate international engagement activities.
    • Capacity to contribute to regulatory and administrative aspects of the Agency's participation in international engagement activities.
    • Administration of Agency external consultative arrangements with national and international agencies and stakeholders.
    • Assist in the administration of an external facing Microsoft Teams/SharePoint Online website.

    Qualifications/Experience/Clearance:

    Desirable -

    • Tertiary qualification preferred.
    • Experience in engaging with industry and government stakeholders.
