About the role


The Investment and Reporting Division (IRD) oversees investment planning, development of investment proposals and Budget and Finance Committee (BFC) business cases, as well as the provision of performance and compliance reporting with statutory, corporate and project obligations for Victoria Police.

IRD comprises of the Integrated Portfolio Office (IPO), Investment Performance Analysis and Reporting (IPAR) and Project Governance Office (PGO) teams.

The IPO provides the end-to-end investment management pipeline for Victoria Police.

This is undertaken through supporting the organisation in investment planning and the development of funding proposals and business cases to be considered by BFC, previously the Expenditure Review Committee (ERC).


Reporting to the Manager, IPO, this role is responsible for working with stakeholders closely to collate information and support the identification of future investment requirements through Victoria Police's Budget and Investment Prioritisation Process (BIPP) and funding requests for Government's consideration.

Identification of the investment requirements and development of business cases is an ongoing and annual process that needs to occur to meet the timeframes for Executive Command, Minister for Police and Government's consideration and decision.

As a member of the Integrated Portfolio Office, your duties will include**:

  • Supporting the organisations investment planning and development of funding proposals.
  • Coordinating documents and content to develop business cases for the State Budget cycle.
  • Maintaining information and records using departmental administrative and business support systems.
  • Performing project support functions, planning and coordination task to support the deliverables of the division.
  • Providing quality and responsive assistance to colleagues, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Assisting with the implementation of the Budget and Investment Priorities Process (BIPP).

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Excellent organisation and demonstrated experience in managing projects and implementing improvements to increase efficiency.
  • The ability to develop and maintain strong professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Welldeveloped communication skills (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent customer service while also being a team player.
  • Excellent prioritisation skills and the ability to meet externally driven and often compressed deadlines.
  • An understanding of key Government priorities.
