  • One (1) fulltime, fixed term position until 30/06/2
  • Working within the Conducted Energy Device Program, Transit & Public Safety Command located at the Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.


The Conducted Energy Device (CED) Program, within the Transit & Public Safety Command is responsible for equipping frontline police and Protective Service Officers (PSOs) with CEDs through a state-wide deployment over a five-year period.


Within the CED Program, is the Centralised Program Team who is responsible for the centralised and strategic coordination of the entire Program encompassing Device Deployment, Training Design and Delivery, Organisational Change and Communications, Infrastructure Upgrades, Information Technology Enhancements and Logistics Management in order to manage the successful implementation of the program scope and deliver outcomes and benefits, supporting Victoria Police's strategic objectives.


The CED Program Team is seeking one (1) proficient VPSG-4 Project Officer, who will report to the CED Program Manager and will support both the IT and Infrastructure Project Streams; responsible for assessment and station upgrades to ~320 sites, with oversight from the Senior Project Managers in both streams.


This role will provide a supporting function across the projects ensuring key dependencies are appropriately managed and supported, including but not limited to supporting project procurements, coordination and management of deployment preparation activities and actively planning, monitoring and delivering project objectives/outcomes.


This role will be diverse, require flexibility and is likely to undertake a wide variety of work across the project.

Also, there may be a requirement to work, as directed, at various work locations and there may be some travel involved across Victoria to support the assessment and station upgrades to ~320 sites.

Your duties will include:


  • Support the Infrastructure and IT Stream in the coordination and management of scope, schedule and budget
  • Support the CED Program Manager and CED Program more broadly in the coordination and management of program priorities and implementation as required
  • Support the project team in the development and management of the project's procurement
  • Support the development of high quality and comprehensive briefs, written reports and correspondence for senior stakeholders
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders (internal and external) to create mutually beneficial partnerships essential to the success of the project
  • Support planning, monitoring and delivering project objectives and outcomes to ensure the project remains within agreed budget, scope and timeframes
  • Collaboration within the Infrastructure Stream and IT Stream and across the broader CED program including other work streams
  • Support the assessment process of the current state of facilities to determine the scope of works required to safely, effectively and efficiently accommodate the new CED's
  • Support the development of plans to ensure IT & Infrastructure uplift works are completed to the required quality and on time to enable the broader CED program deployment schedule
  • Scheduling IT & Infrastructure works to meet the schedule for the broader CED program, highest safety standards and ensure mínimal disruption for site occupants

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Proven and demonstrated project management experience and capability including knowledge and/or experience of procurement processes, project planning and scoping and contract management.
  • Highly developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with an ability to prepare wellwritten, timely, concise, accurate and audienceappropriate project briefings, reports and documents
  • Work under pressure, including occasionally under very tight timeframes
  • Experience in effectively engaging key stakeholders and collaborating with leaders of the programs' other streams of work
  • Ability to work autonomously on your own initiative and be selfmotivated and driven
  • Ability to identify project related risks and provide advice to effectively mitigate them
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including negotiation, written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience supporting 24x7 operations
