Our Team

  • Our team manages two busy community leisure facilities including the brand new $60 million Brimbank Aquatic and Wellness Centre and the Sunshine Leisure Centre. Our leadership team are a single management solution managing programs and services across both facilities including aquatic activities, swim school, gymnasiums and group fitness classes. We work with a number of community partners to deliver a range of meaningful community programs to our residents.

The role

  • Reporting to the Manager Leisure Centres, we are seeking a motivated professional who can bring their skills and experience for:
  • Delivery of the learn to swim program with near 4,000 students
  • Delivery of the school swimming program
  • Assist in the delivery of other ancillary aquatic services
  • Assist the leadership team in delivery of the council plan elements applicable to the leisure centres

About you

  • To succeed in this role, you will have
  • Ability to work in accordance with our values and behaviours
  • Highly developed understanding of the aquatics and recreation industry and capacity to translate that experience into the development of effective programs, services, and promotional activities.
  • Welldeveloped supervisory skills and ability to manage lead and train a large, diverse team of multidisciplinary staff and contractors.
  • Relevant experience in financial management of a leisure venue or commercial programs.
  • Ability to plan and organise work while responding to challenges and issues using emerging policy solutions and creative problemsolving skills.
  • Welldeveloped written and oral communication skills and ability to liaise, negotiate, and communicate effectively with a wide range of organisations, client groups and suppliers.
  • Demonstrated experience in building partnerships and the development of networks, in particular with schools.
  • Ability to use common office software packages including word processing, spreadsheet, databases, electronic presentations, and specific industry packages such as swim school software.
  • Appropriate tertiary qualification and significant experience in aquatics management
  • Local government experience is desirable
