- Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the organization's Enterprise Risk Management Framework and Compliance Framework.
- Evaluate and challenge the effectiveness of risk and compliance activities and capabilities, engaging with the senior leadership team regularly.
- Enhance the organization's capability and maturity in governance and assurance to meet legal obligations.
- Prepare and present papers on strategic risks, organizational risks, and compliance obligations to relevant committees and executive teams.
- Review and maintain risk management statements, registers, policies, and procedures for approval by the appropriate committees.
- Develop and manage business systems to ensure effective management of risks and compliance obligations.
- Lead awareness, training, and compliance efforts for corporate-focused legislation.
- Manage the development, implementation, and evaluation of the organization's business continuity framework and plans.
- Foster a culture of risk and compliance across the organization, collaborating with senior management and business units.
- Provide guidance on operational risk and compliance activities and drive cross-business collaboration.
- Support the broader Governance, Risk, and Assurance team, including internal audit.
- Demonstrated technical skills in risk management processes, Microsoft Office applications, and communication.
- Thorough understanding of regulatory bodies and governance.
- Experience in designing and delivering enterprise risk training.
- Commercial acumen with effective influencing and negotiation skills.
- Tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, or related fields.
- Qualification in Risk Management and/or Compliance Management desired.
- Minimum 10 years' experience in relevant operational risk or compliance roles.
- Demonstrated experience in operational risk models, compliance frameworks, and systems.
- Proven ability to provide strategic direction and innovation in risk and compliance management.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and management skills.
- Ability to provide flexible solutions and proactive decision-making.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This position entails overseeing and managing a robust risk and compliance framework and systems within the organization.
