Responsibilities of role:

  • Provide authoritative and timely advice to the Director, Operations, health practitioners, coaches, athletes, clinical specialists and other stakeholders regarding governance and reporting requirements. Ensure that corporate operations, policies and procedures comply with, and are implemented in accordance with the relevant legislation and statutory requirements, Queensland standards and guidelines, DTIS corporate policies and QAS Strategy. Oversee a range of complex documentation for the QAS, including submissions, briefings, reports, Board papers and other documentation as required to meet key compliance and reporting deliverables. Lead in the development and implementation of policies, systems and procedures to ensure effective and efficient governance processes are in place to manage the documenting, implementing and evaluating of reporting, audit and risk requirements. Establish integrated governance performance indicators and monitor, measure, analyse and report upon governance performance, ensuring QAS Executive, Board, risk committees and senior management are informed on identified risks and the progress of governance efforts. Identify potential areas of governance vulnerability and risk; develop and/or implement corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues and provide general guidance on how to avoid or deal with similar situations in the future. Maintain influential and consultative partnerships and networks with executive and senior management within QAS, ensuring governance, risk and compliance frameworks are fit for purpose, support decision making and the achievement of strategic objectives. Liaise and consult with a broad range of stakeholders in the delivery of governance and reporting requirements, managing conflicting priorities within tight timeframes, resolving issues, negotiating outcomes and ensuring outcomes are achieved within a high-performance environment. Work collaboratively with the wider Australian High-Performance system (including State Institutes, AIS, International and Professional elite sport networks) to share knowledge and leverage opportunities. As a member of the QAS team, take shared accountability for setting a highperformance culture to enable high performance outcomes.
