Have you got a passion for helping teams move from norming to performing? Do you enjoy navigating complex technical domains? Are you a strong believer in agile as a methodology (and not as a doctrine)?

Perpetual Digital is looking for an experienced Agile Delivery Manager / Scrum Master to join our Engineering team. The role is to sit across two cross-functional scrum squads. They will help drive greater agile efficiencies and processes throughout our engineering and product squads.

They will need to dive into the details, understand the business problems and make informed and well-educated recommendations to the squad.

You'll be a valued member of our engineering squad. You will have the opportunity to play an integral part in driving the technology squad's rhythm, culture, and processes.

Sounds interesting? Here are some specifics about the opportunity:

Lean and Agile- Lead agile initiatives from conception through to successful delivery- Guide engineering squads through their agile/scrum process- Organise scrum events as necessary (Standup, Sprint Planning, Sprint Review and Retros)- Provide coaching for squads and individuals to work through agile/delivery challenges- Evolve and nurture the squad's ways-of-working.

Within the Squad- Overall ownership of project delivery- Work with the squads to manage their backlog, estimation, and prioritisation- Digest complex business requirements, understand inter-squad dependencies and actively seek to mitigate blockers- Work with the squad and product owners to prioritise product backlog vs technical debt- Work with business analysts, designers, and product owners to ensure that requirements are of acceptable quality for the engineering squads- Actively support the squad execution on feature delivery, from inception to release.

Cross Squads- Manage and track project issues and risks, identify recurring blockers across squads and proactively address them- Facilitate delivery and release planning between engineering and product squads- Work across multiple squads to ensure delivery consistency and roadmap alignment- Facilitate continuous improvement in delivery practices across the Product Engineering squads.

To be considered for this opportunity, your qualifications, skills and experience could include:

  • A "You build it, you own it" mentality
  • Tertiary qualification in business, IT and/or 10+ years of relevant industry experience
  • 7+ years of solid and demonstrable experience on medium to large-scale projects in an Agile Delivery manager (or similar) capacity

  • Solid understanding of Lean ways of working, Scrum and SAFe framework.
  • The ability to work productively as part of an agile squad/tribe

  • Experience in coaching, or a desire to provide coaching at both squads and individual level.
  • A desire to continually improve the way in which you and our squads work
  • The ability to communicate clearly and effectively with your squads, managers, and stakeholders
It would be great to bring, but is not required to have:

  • Some banking and/or mortgage experience
  • Certified training in agile delivery, such as the Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), Agile SAFe Certification or similar.
