Our client, a prominent law firm is seeking a Regional Financial Controller for the Asia Pacific region. The successful candidate will develop and manage a high-performing finance team, ensuring technical excellence, superior service levels, and timely financial operations.

Role:Acting as a business partner and trusted advisor to the regional leadership team, the Regional Financial Controller will maximize profitability, minimize financial risk, and support strategic growth targets.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership:Lead and develop finance teams across APAC, fostering a responsive and collaborative culture.
Tax Compliance:Ensure local GST/VAT, payroll, and other tax compliance with support from the Global Tax team.
Cost Management:Implement processes and controls to optimize revenue and manage costs effectively.
Process Improvement:Enhance efficiency by improving financial processes and systems, focusing initially on billing and cash collection.
Financial Reporting:Produce and interpret monthly management accounts, including performance and variance analysis.
Compliance:Ensure all statutory, regulatory, and internal compliance requirements are met.
Working Capital:Support improvements in working capital management.
Project Support:Provide financial insight for new office openings, system implementations, and other initiatives.
Budget Management:Manage the region's budget and forecast processes.
Audit Management:Develop strong relationships with advisors and manage the statutory audit process.
Special Issues:Address transfer pricing, international mobility, partner tax, and corporate structure issues.
Internal Audit:Develop and implement an internal audit program to strengthen controls.

Requirements

Qualifications:Qualified Accountant with a minimum of 5 years PQE, preferably in a legal or professional services firm.
Team Leadership:Experience in building and managing high-performing teams.
Regional Knowledge:Familiarity with Asia Pacific finance, tax, and compliance regimes.
Technical Expertise:Proven technical proficiency in finance and accounting.
