  • Salary ranges from $134,411 to $155,445 + super


Our NSW Land and Housing Corporation (LAHC) team is currently seeking to appoint
a Media Manager within the Partnerships and Communication Division.

This role provides strategic advice and guidance to Ministers and the Department of Planning and Environment (DPE) Secretary, Deputy Secretaries and Executive on the planning, development and delivery of media strategies and activities to support government initiatives, programs and events and manage issues as they arise in a highly contentious and political environment.


Our Media Manager role is within a very fast-paced environment that is a high profile media role in terms of focus for the government.

This is a role in which you will have an impact on our community.

Your day-to-day could involve anything from managing the flow of news around the business including major media and critical issues; providing and contributing to strategic communication advice; monitoring state-wide media to building effective and collaborative relationships with the Minister's offices, media representatives and managers throughout the organisation at large.

We are seeking someone who brings with them experience and strength in team leadership along with experience in the management of multiple internal and external stakeholders.

This is a fast-paced, high pressure role and we are looking for someone who can hit the ground running and thrive in this environment.

You will also need a willingness to travel to regional areas in order to fulfill the requirements of this role.


Essential requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in communications, media, journalism, or related discipline and/or relevant extensive experience.
  • Demonstrated strong experience in media relations, including contacts with media organisations and an understanding of emergent issues impacting the client Directorate.
  • Willingness and ability to be on call as required outside of normal working hours.

A key feature is the Communities Plus program, which is designed to fast-track the redevelopment of LAHC's social housing portfolio in partnership with the private and community housing sector to deliver significant new and replacement social housing dwellings that are integrated with affordable private dwellings.
