ABOUT THE BRANCH & SECTION


The COMCAR and Programs Branch is responsible for delivering high quality, secure and confidential car-with-driver and other ground transport services to high profile clients, such as the Governor-General and Prime Minister (both current and former), parliamentarians, members of the Federal Judiciary and other high office holders.

Additionally, the Branch provides secretariat support to the Australian Political Exchange Council.


COMCAR provides ground transport and associated support services to visiting Guests of Government such as Royalty, Heads of State, Heads of Government and other foreign dignitaries.

COMCAR frequently delivers services during major international events, such as the ASEAN Special Summit, Group of Twenty meetings (G20), the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) and other Ministerial forums hosted in Australia.

COMCAR has a national presence, with drivers located in each state and territory.


The Australian Political Exchange Council supports the development of young Australian political leaders by providing opportunities to gain insights into the political systems and cultures of countries with which the Council has established exchange agreements.

It also offers delegates from participating countries a chance to learn about Australia and its political system and build enduring networks between young political leaders.


The COMCAR National Operations Centre (CNOC) is the engine room of COMCAR, responsible for managing client bookings, allocations and trip dispatches to our state and territory driver workforce within a 24/7 operational environment.


ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITIES**
APS 6 Auspol & Visits Officer

The APS6 Auspol & Visits Officer is responsible for providing secretariat services and program support to the Australian Political Exchange Council, and event management and coordination support to visiting international dignitaries.


The Auspol & Visits Officer is required to:

  • Develop, coordinate and accompany incoming and outgoing exchange visits, including travel to domestic and international locations to deliver program activities and provide support to exchange participants
  • Coordinate transport arrangements for Guest of Government visits and other nationalscale events, including ontheground support in the delivery of transportation services during major national visits and events
  • Develop and maintain strong stakeholder relationships with Council members, the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, diplomatic officials and visiting dignitaries
  • Deliver highlevel secretariat services to the Council, including reporting on the Council's activities and management of the Council's mailbox, database and website
  • Prepare internal and external correspondence; draft agenda papers, briefings and senate estimate papers as required
  • Undertake financial management and recordkeeping activities.

APS 6 CNOC Manager

The APS6 CNOC Manager is responsible for supporting the National Operations team in the planning and delivery of high quality car-with-driver services in partnership with our state and territory based staff, the manager leads a collaborative effort to deliver services within a 24/7 operational environment.


The CNOC Manager is required to:

  • Oversee the delivery of national operations, supporting the Assistant Director as required
  • Lead by example; demonstrate integrity through an honest, transparent and accountable approach to staff management
  • Provide guidance, support and advice to CNOC Team Leaders and maintain strong working relationships with COMCAR State Offices
  • Conduct regular reporting and provide advice on CNOC operations and service delivery levels to the National Management team
  • Review, update and implement operational guidelines, processes and procedures in consultation with other COMCAR areas
  • Respond to afterhours calls and requests as required.
