ABOUT THE BRANCH
The Parliamentary and Corporate Engagement Branch provides an integral link to the Parliament, our portfolio ministers and departmental executive.

The team delivers advice and support to our ministers, the department and portfolio agencies to fulfil their responsibilities to the Parliament.


The Branch also supports and coordinates the implementation of the Enhanced Commonwealth Performance Framework through activities such as preparation of the department's corporate plan and annual report, and provides communication and stakeholder engagement support to the department, management of media enquiries and the Finance websites.


ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY**Ministerial and Parliamentary positions play a critical role in supporting parliamentary activities for departments and portfolio Ministers' offices. Services include management of ministerial documents, coordination of departmental appearances at Senate Estimates and committee hearings, accounts payable services for ministerial offices and management of the Parliamentary Document Management System (PDMS).


The Parliamentary and Corporate Engagement Branch is looking for a high performing Parliamentary Liaison Officer with the ability to deliver advice and support to Finance portfolio ministers, the department and portfolio agencies to fulfil their responsibilities to the Parliament.

The role would be well supported by a sound working knowledge of parliamentary processes and systems, a strong focus on client service, and a proficiency in the use of automated workflow systems.

Working in a team environment the position may encompass some or all of the following:

- oversight and management of the Senate Estimates process for the Finance portfolio including coordination of briefing and responses to Senates Estimates Questions on Notice
- oversight of the coordination of Question Time Briefs and responses to Parliamentary Questions on Notice
- oversight of the effective and timely processing of incoming Ministerial and executive correspondence, and Ministerial briefs and submissions
- oversight of the provision of training and information sessions for staff in relation to the business processes of ministerial items and the use of PDMS
- management of senate orders
- oversight of the team responsible for the delivery of Cabinet services to the portfolio
- coordination of ad hoc briefing and requests for information in relation to parliamentary responsibilities
- provision of complex information and strategic advice to stakeholders including the ability to prepare analytical reporting
- management of APS level staff within the team.
