- Undertaking a range of production tasks under direction from the Executive Producer and Supervising Producers across a 24 hour/seven day roster.
- Writing and producing program elements including overlay, RVOs, teases, openers, grabs and packages.
- Producing concise, accurate and engaging copy/edits that have been tailored for a breakfast television audience.
- Working with a team on the production desk.
- Chasing guest bookings.
- Suggest story segment and interview ideas, and identify fresh angles in ongoing and developing stories.
- Working alongside and supporting the News Breakfast's digital team to increase the shelf-life for linear TV content.
- The ability to write and produce clean, accurate news content as well as banners, teases and other program elements.
- A basic understanding of the technical and logistics challenges of television news production.
- The ability to produce editorial content which will comply with Editorial Policies and Style Guides.
- Desk Top Editing skills.
- Communication skills and a commitment to working in a multi-skilled, team environment.
- Strong time management skills and the experience of working to tight deadlines.
- A demonstrated and ongoing interest and passion in finding and telling stories that reflect modern Australia.
