    Description

    My client, a global leading financial advisory and asset management firm are currently seeking a Financial Accountant to join their APAC Finance team, with offices based in Sydney CBD.

    This newly created role will support the asset management business in Australia and provide day-to-day support to the APAC Regional Controller who is based in Sydney.

    Main Responsibilities

    • Application, review, and approval of Concur management expense system.
    • Month end procedures, journal preparation to trial balance level.
    • Preparation of Corporate and Managed Investment Scheme BAS returns.
    • Assist with annual FBT calculations.
    • Settlement of all intercompany balances with global affiliates.
    • Review of manual and EFT payment disbursements.
    • Preparing calculations and invoicing of inter office charges for relevant services.
    • Preparation of Australian Bureau of Statistics filings.
    • Oversight of client and unit trust billing process.
    • Assisting with the budgeting and forecasting cycles.
    • Assistance with the annual corporate and fund audit and financial statement process.
    • Other ad-hoc responsibilities.

    The successful candidate

    • CA/CPA qualified with 3 + years' experience in a previous accounting role.
    • A proactive approach, coupled with a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Exceptional analytical ability and a deep understanding of SAP and Concur expense systems.
    • Outstanding communication skills when interacting with internal and external stakeholders.
    • A strong focus on client satisfaction and prompt response times.
    • Effective time management skills and adaptability to cyclical nature of role.
    • The capacity to meet demanding periodic reporting deadlines.
    • A genuine interest in the funds management and financial advisory industries.
    • Eagerness to learn and advance in the field.
    • Expertise in Microsoft Excel and database management.
    • A natural aptitude for building relationships and the ability to work independently.
